Pardew's Charlton are in ninth place in the Championship
Charlton manager Alan Pardew says referees should be held accountable for their decisions and actions.
The Addicks boss told BBC London 94.9: "It's still bizarre to me that they don't come on television and defend their decisions.
"I think that would make better clarity for them, better clarity for the viewer and for the fans.
"Then we could say I don't agree with you but at least I can see what you were thinking."
"That would make sense for everybody," Pardew added.
The manager's comments follow on from last weekend's goalless draw against Nottingham Forest in which Pardew was furious with some of referee Karl Evans' decisions.
Pardew believed that the referee should have awarded his side a penalty and sent off Forest's Kevin Wilson in separate incidents.
"It's lack of dialogue between referees and managers that is the major issue.
"The Football Association in the past in my view have been a little bit over zealous with managers' reactions. We've got to defend ourselves at times and sometimes the decision making process lets us down and why can't we voice that?"
"We moan about our players and the fans, the rain and the weather but we can't talk about referees. I don't understand it. Criticism is there for us all."
