Charlton winger Dennis Rommedahl has joined Dutch side Ajax for £680,000.
Rommedahl is returning to Dutch football
The Denmark international, who has signed a three-year deal, signed for the Addicks in 2004 from PSV Eindhoven for £2m and made 84 appearances.
"Ajax fits me perfectly. I hope that Ajax think the same. I wanted to return to Holland very much," said Rommedahl.
"I played a lot of years in the Dutch Eredivisie, and I love the positive football that is played there. That absolutely counts for Ajax."
He added: "They play on the attack and always play for prizes. But since I went to England I became more of an all-round player."
He scored six times for Charlton, including a double in the FA Cup third-round win over Sheffield Wednesday in 2006.
Rommedahl has won 67 caps for Denmark, scoring against France in the World Cup finals of 2002.
