Charlton have signed Denmark winger Dennis Rommedahl for £2m on a four-year deal from PSV Eindhoven.
Rommedahl has won 45 caps for Denmark, scoring nine goals
He said: "I want to try something new and they made a good impression on me. I like the way they play in England with the pace being much quicker.
"I think the possibilities for this year and the year after are good after finishing seventh last season so maybe we can get into the Uefa Cup."
Rommedahl, 25, made 161 appearances for PSV and scored 29 goals.
Charlton were keen to sign Rommedahl to start a summer of strengthening after receiving £11m from Chelsea for midfielder Scott Parker.
Rommedahl began his career with Lyngby, before joining PSV in 1996, and has been a regular in the first team since the 1997-98 season.
He also has 45 caps for Denmark, including four at Euro 2004, and a total of nine goals.
