Midfielder Chris Bart-Williams has signed a new contract with Charlton, keeping him at The Valley for another two seasons.

The former England Under-21 international joined on a short-term contract from Nottingham Forest midway through last season.

The 28-year-old Bart-Williams said: "I'm very pleased to finally get everything sorted out and I'm really looking forward to the new season.

"Last season was a strange one for me, but I enjoyed my time at Charlton. It's an ambitious club and I want to be part of that."

Manager Alan Curbishley added: "I'm delighted Chris has extended his contract.

"He showed in his loan period last season that he has plenty to offer the club and his aim now must be to become an established member of the first team."
