Celtic manager Tony Mowbray hails win over Falkirk

Mowbray singled out the performance of Robbie Keane in the win against Falkirk

Celtic manager Tony Mowbray praised his side's composure following their 2-0 win over Falkirk in the Scottish Premier League.

On-loan striker Robbie Keane scored in either half to secure victory and Mowbray was pleased with the outcome.

"The team had a professional, organised performance and we looked reasonably secure," Mowbray told BBC Scotland.

"It's a bit black and white in Scottish football - if you win, it's a better day. I thought we deserved to win."

Keane's brace at the Falkirk Stadium ended a poor run of results for Celtic against the SPL's bottom club, having drawn twice in the two earlier league encounters this season.

The win narrows the gap on Rangers at the top of the table to 10 points, and Mowbray was quick to single out the contribution of the Republic of Ireland captain Keane, who had turned out for his country against Brazil midweek.

"I was toying with the idea of putting Robbie on the bench after watching him at the Emirates (Stadium) last week, as he had a hard game last week and hadn't trained all week," said Mowbray.

"It was a lot of effort expended for him this last seven days, but thankfully, between the two of us we decided to start him.

"Thankfully, he took his two chances.

"But I thought it was a decent performance. There's been other days when we've played pretty well, as I've said consistently this year.

"I judge it from where we are, and I thought we deserved to win. We were pretty controlled, so it was okay."
