Celtic move is a dream - Rasmussen

Celtic have confirmed the signing of striker Morten Rasmussen from Brondby.

The Danish club had accepted Celtic's undisclosed offer and the player has agreed a contract for three-and-a-half years after passing a medical.

The 24-year-old, capped three times for Denmark, scored 52 goals in 111 appearances for Brondby.

Rasmussen's nickname is Duncan, his style of play having been compared to former Everton, Rangers and Scotland striker Duncan Ferguson.

He goes straight into the squad to face Hibernian on Wednesday and is looking forward to making his bow in Scottish football.

"It is a big thing for me, it's a dream," said the striker.

"Celtic are a big club so I'm pleased to be here. It's a very big jump up from playing with Brondby.

"I'm a striker and most of my goals are scored in the box.

"I am a box player, I like to be in the box."

Celtic boss Tony Mowbray believes he has added a "different type of striker" to his attacking options.

"I am delighted that we could add to the options up front," said the manager.

"He's a different type of striker to the ones that we have got.

"Hopefully, given the opportunity, he can score goals which will obviously help the team.

"(Georgios) Samaras and (Marc-Antoine) Fortune do a lot of their very best work outside the box and working defences very hard.

"Scott McDonald has a more predatory instinct and gets lots of goals with his twisting and turning but this boy can score different types of goals and he is a clinical finisher given the opportunity.

"What we like is desire to score and the enjoyment when he does score."

Meanwhile, Celtic have made an enquiry about West Brom's Slovenian international captain, Robert Koren.

The midfielder has said he wants to leave the Championship club as he has struggled to get a regular game in the first team under manager Roberto Di Matteo.
