Celtic snatch late draw with Boro

Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink celebrates his late Celtic goal
Vennegoor of Hesselink netted in stoppage time

Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink came off the bench to nod home a stoppage-time equaliser for Celtic in their Algarve Cup opener against Middlesbrough.

Darren O'Dea's poor back-pass gifted Jeremie Aliadiere the opening goal 19 minutes from time.

Keeper Mark Brown's attempted clearance was charged down by the Frenchman and the ball flew straight into the net.

But Vennegoor of Hesselink levelled late on when he stooped to nod in Bobo Balde's headed pass.

Cardiff lead the way in the tournament after a 2-1 win over Vitoria Guimaraes, thanks to a double from former Motherwell striker Ross McCormack.
