Fulham confirm Gravesen interest

Gravesen has struggled to make an impact since joining Celtic

Fulham have made an inquiry for Celtic's out-of-favour midfielder Thomas Gravesen.

Craven Cottage boss Lawrie Sanchez told BBC Sport he was interested in signing the 31-year-old Dane.

Sanchez said the English Premier League club had not made an offer, but he did not rule out a bid for Gravesen before the transfer window closes.

"I have been in contact with Celtic but that's really as far as it goes," Sanchez said.

"Gravesen is a player I admire but no bid has been made," the Fulham manager added.

"I simply asked Celtic about his availability and why he's not been in their plans lately."

Gravesen has been unable to establish himself in Gordon Strachan's side since his £2m move from Real Madrid in August last year.

The former Everton player has been linked with Sunderland and Sheffield United.

Gravesen lost his place to Paul Hartley after the Scotland midfielder signed from Hearts in January and failed to force his way back into Strachan's plans.

The player's agent said in June that Gravesen was willing to stay at Celtic Park and fight for his place this season.
