Evans return to Man Utd disappoints Carlisle's Abbott

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott says he is disappointed not to have seen more of Manchester United midfielder Corry Evans during his loan spell.

Evans, 20, has made only one appearance for the Cumbrians, after a hamstring injury and illness took their toll.

"It has meant that we have not seen him as much as we wanted to," Abbott told the club website.

"He is another young man who has come here with an excellent attitude and he was a pleasure to work with."

Abbott added: "He will now stay at Old Trafford but he is definitely one that we will continue to monitor."

United have already confirmed that Evans, who missed Northern Ireland's 1-1 draw with Morocco on Tuesday, will return to Old Trafford once his loan officially ends on Saturday.

Belfast-born Evans is yet to make his full debut for Manchester United, and is the younger brother of club and international team-mate Jonny Evans.
