Carlisle have offered a trial to former Blackburn academy player Gari Rowntree.
He has only recently recovered from a 15-month spell out with cruciate knee ligament injury.
The Cumbrian-born defender will spend a week with Neil McDonald's side in a bid to gain a contract after being released by the Premiership side.
The 18-year-old is no stranger to Brunton Park, having played there as a 12-year-old in a Cumberland Cup victory under youth team boss Eric Kinder.
