Preece to stay at Carlisle
Veteran striker Andy Preece is to play on with Carlisle following their relegation to the Conference.

Preece, 37, has agreed a new 12-month deal with the Cumbrians after scoring three times in 25 appearances.

The former Bury player-boss committed himself to Carlisle after missing out on the manager's job at Blackpool.

"I'm pleased to have Andy for another season and it's a deal I wanted to get done," player-manager Paul Simpson told Carlisle's official website.

Former Blackpool and Stockport striker Preece moved to Brunton Park last December after leaving Bury and played a major part in Carlisle's revival.
