Glennon glad to be back
Goalkeeper Matt Glennon is delighted to have sealed a return to Carlisle United after an unhappy 16-month stay at Hull City.

Glennon played 33 games for the Cumbrians during a loan spell from Bolton Wanderers in the 2000/01 season, before joining Hull last June.

He started the current campaign as first-choice at Boothferry Park but recently lost his place to Paul Musselwhite and has now joined Carlisle on a permanent basis.

The 24-year-old has signed a contract until June, 2005 following a free transfer and made his second Carlisle debut in their 2-2 draw at Macclesfield Town on Saturday.

Glennon said: "I am delighted to be back.

"I didn't really enjoy it much at Hull City and I have always had a soft spot for Carlisle.

"After meeting manager Roddy Collins and what he told me, he really impressed me," Glennon told Carlisle's club web site.

Stockport-born Glennon began his career at Bolton and had loan spells at both Bristol Rovers and Carlisle before joining Hull for a 50,000 fee in June last year.

A thigh injury in December brought an end to a successful run in the Hull side and Glennon has not been able to claim a regular place since then.
