Atkins leaves Carlisle
Atkins joins Sam Hammam's Ninian Park revolution
Carlisle have been dealt another close season blow with the news that boss Ian Atkins has joined Cardiff City.
Atkins had been linked with moves to Torquay and Aston Villa but has instead opted to join Sam Hammam's Ninian Park revolution. He becomes assistant coach, along with Ian Butterworth, to Bluebirds boss Alan Cork. Carlisle now look set to go into the new season managerless and minus some of the star players who are being chased by higher division clubs.
