Cardiff City boss Dave Jones fears he will have to do without Craig Bellamy and Seyi Olofinjana once again for Tuesday's visit of Crystal Palace.

The on-loan Premier League pair missed the last-gasp 2-1 win over Millwall on Saturday that saw Cardiff go second in the Championship table.

"We're trying to get them back," Jones told BBC Sport Wales.

"My medical team are under immense pressure from me but I've also got to be sensible."

Olofinjana and fellow midfielder Danny Drinkwater both missed the Millwall game with thigh injuries, Wales captain Bellamy has missed the last three weeks with a long-standing knee problem, while another striker, Michael Chopra, has an ankle injury.

After the midweek test against Palace at the Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff travel to Barnsley the following Saturday before the break for international matches.

Jones hinted that he may even be advised by his medical staff not to risk his players coming back from injury before domestic football recommences for the Bluebirds on 16 October, with the midday kick-off at home to Bristol City.

"I know what they're saying to me, that if we want them to go through a long campaign then for the sake of getting them back early for a game and then lose them for another three or four games is a crazy thing," Jones said.

"So I've got to be a bit patient on that, I don't want to be but I have to.

"I've got enough good players here to go and be better than what they were [against Millwall], because we won't always have the players as there will be injuries, there will be suspensions.

"That'll do us the world of good getting the three points but we know our performance wasn't at the level we know we're capable of."
