"And playing anywhere else in Europe would be too much of a strain on my family because they do live in Cardiff so it really only limits me to maybe on place so that would probably be it."
Bellamy, who has made 58 Wales appearances, scored 10 Premier League goals last season, as City finished fifth - just missing out on a Champions League place.
Meanwhile the Bluebirds missed out on a place in the Premier League when they lost 3-2 to Blackpool in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.
He has also played for Norwich, Coventry, Newcastle, Celtic, Blackburn, Liverpool and West Ham, having begun his career at as a Bristol Rovers youth player.
