Ross McCormack was a summer target for Premier League clubs
Cardiff's Ross McCormack takes over up front from suspended Michael Chopra after two months out with a hamstring injury at Swansea on Saturday.
McCormack, the Bluebirds' top-scorer last season with 23, said: "The gaffer's told me I'm playing on Saturday and I'm looking forward to it.
"It's the keenest atmosphere I've come across in football and I'm including the Old Firm and the Champions League."
Chopra is out after being booked for a fifth time this season.
Scottish international McCormack told the Bluebirds' website: "Old Firm matches in Glasgow have calmed down a bit in recent years.
"I played in both the League matches against Swansea last season and scored both times."
He also scored from a free kick in Cardiff City reserves' 2-0 win over Exeter on Tuesday, a game played behind closed doors in which he was taken off after an hour.
He had been fighting for fitness since tearing a hamstring at Blackpool on 15 August.
McCormack added: "I'm fit again, and now I need to build up match sharpness.
"I've completed 90 minutes only twice this season - in the opener against Scunthorpe and then for the reserves against Fulham last week.
It's great when you see the free kicks go in. I used to score a lot of them when I was younger
Ross McCormack
"I would have been happy to go on for 90 minutes [against Exeter reserves], but the decision was made to take me off, and I was happy to go along with it.
"It's great when you see the free kicks go in. I used to score a lot of them when I was younger.
"Last year, my dead ball speciality was the penalties but they were taken away from me, so I've been working on the free kicks recently."
McCormack was a target for a host of Premier League clubs in the summer and in his absence Chopra has scored 11 goals to make him the division's top scorer this season.
