Cardiff still not firing - Jones

Jones believes the best is yet to come from Cardiff

Dave Jones says Cardiff City are still not firing on all cylinders despite being fourth in the Championship.

The Bluebirds travel to Watford on Tuesday as they look to extend their unbeaten run to four games.

"A couple of weeks ago, we were getting battered from pillar to post, but we are building and maturing as a team," boss Jones told BBC Wales.

"I still don't think we are firing on all cylinders and there is more to come from us."

Watford are down in 14th place but are only four points behind the Bluebirds.

And Jones is hoping a bit of luck will come the Welsh side's way.

"No matter who we play in this division, they are all tough, strong sides and you've got to be properly prepared.

"Sometimes we need a break and a little bit of luck. We need all of those ingredients to go on and win a football match.

"If we keep believing and working at it and cut out the sloppiness, we will win more than we don't."

Jones is likely to be without midfielder Joe Ledley again, but the Wales international will travel to Hertfordshire and be assessed on Tuesday.

"Joe has trained hard all week. It was too soon for him last Saturday.

"In all honesty, I think we will be looking at Saturday rather than tomorrow night."
