Cardiff City have signed USA international striker Eddie Johnson on a season's loan from Fulham.
However, the Cottagers have the option to recall the 24-year-old striker in January 2009 should they require.
Johnson has been handed the Cardiff number nine shirt and will be available to make his Bluebirds debut in Tuesday's Carling Cup tie with MK Dons.
"Hopefully we've picked up another good player that will come in and help the cause," Cardiff boss Dave Jones said.
Johnson joined Fulham during the January 2008 transfer window from Major League Soccer side Kansas City Wizards and has made six appearances for the Londoners.
He was the youngest ever player to sign with MLS in 2001 and developed at a pace with the USA team on the international stage.
After winning the Golden Shoe at the Fifa World Youth Championships in 2004, Johnson was part of the 2006 World Cup and has an impressive goal ratio of one in three for the US.
Johnson has been away on international duty in Guatemala in midweek but will be unveiled to Cardiff supporters at Ninian Park on Saturday for the visit of Norwich City.
