Chairman Peter Rdisdale says Cardiff will strengthen up front
Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale has asked supporters for patience in their bid to sign a striker.
On Monday night Marcus Bent's move to Ninian Park collapsed as the Charlton forward made a last-minute U-turn after opting in favour of Birmingham City.
That follows last week's decision by Robbie Fowler to snub a pay-as-you-play deal from Cardiff to join Blackburn.
"The last few days have been the ultimate roller-coaster," Ridsdale said in a statement on the club website.
"Hot on the heals of the dismay of Robbie Fowler leaving came the welcome news of a new signing - and then again the disappointment regarding Marcus Bent.
"I totally understand the frustration that all Cardiff City fans feel... please just understand that we will acquire the missing links to give us the chance to compete this year.
"We have made tremendous progress and we will not let the odd hiccup disrupt our plans. As always thank you for your support and understanding."
