Cardiff boss escapes FAW charge
Cardiff manager Dave Jones
Cardiff boss Jones was scathing of referee Mark Clattenburg
Cardiff boss Dave Jones has escaped a disrepute charge after facing an FA of Wales disciplinary committee on Monday.

Jones was called over comments he made about referee Mark Clattenburg following Cardiff's 1-0 win over Leeds at Ninian Park on 17 February.

Clattenburg had sent off Simon Walton and Bluebirds striker Michael Chopra.

Walton has been fined a week's wages and warned as to his future conduct after being found guilty of improper conduct for his reaction to the red.

The on-loan Charlton midfielder was controversially sent off for two yellow cards, and faced the improper conduct charge for kicking the electronic substitutes' board as he walked from the pitch.

The referee's assessor's report at the time confirmed that the dismissal for alleged diving was wrong, but that did not save Walton from punishment.

The FAW panel found the case against Bluebirds manager Jones unproven.
