Cardiff goalkeeper Martyn Margetson has signed a dual contract which will see him continue his playing career while also taking up a coaching role.
Margetson will coach and provide goalkeeping cover
Margetson was released by Cardiff at the end of the season, and Swansea boss Kenny Jackett made him an offer.
But the 34-year-old Wales international has opted to return to Ninian Park to help launch his coaching career.
Cardiff owner Sam Hammam said Margetson has the "character, leadership and experience" to be a fine coach.
Margetson has played second fiddle at Ninian Park since joining in 2002 which has limited him to just 39 first-team appearances.
Cardiff needed a new goalkeeping coach following the departure of long-time servant George Wood left the club.
