Gordon signs for Bluebirds
Dean Gordon is set for a month's move to Ninian
Dean Gordon has arrived on a month's loan
Cardiff City have clinched the signing of experienced Middlesbrough left-back Dean Gordon.

The Bluebirds have signed the former Crystal Palace player on a month's loan in a bid to stop leaking late goals which have cost them dearly this season.

The equaliser conceded in the 1-1 draw with Colchester on Tuesday was the fourth time City have let points slip late on, and manager Alan Cork will hope that Gordon can help solve that problem.

The 28-year-old defender has fallen out of favour at the Riverside, with Frenchman Franck Queudrue now installed in the first team.

Gordon was signed by former Boro manager Bryan Robson from Palace for 900,000, but suffered a serious knee injury and has since struggled to hold down a regular place.

The deal has been done with a view to a permanent move, and Gordon said: "The Second Division is a step back for me but Cardiff City is a club with bags of potential."

It is likely that Gordon will make his debut for City at Notts County on Saturday.

Two players who could be heading out of Ninian Park are Matthew Brazier and Kevin Nugent. The duo have been linked with a joint 70,000 move to Colchester.
