Keeper Drench joins U's on loan

Cambridge United

Cambridge United boss Gary Brabin has returned to former club Southport to sign goalkeeper Steven Drench on a six-month loan deal.

Brabin signed the 22-year-old from Morcambe whilst boss of Southport back in July.

Drench will provide cover for U's number one Danny Potter.

Brabin told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "Danny Potter has done great - his attitude has been different class - but he needs competition."
