Cambridge United have agreed to sign ex-Peterborough full-back Dean Hooper.
The 35-year-old, who has recently been playing for Conference South side Lewes, is to stay at the Abbey Stadium until the end of the season.
"We need experience to cope with the pressures and make sure we stay in this league and Dean has that," U's boss Jimmy Quinn told his club's website.
Hooper started more than 100 games for the Posh as well as several lower league and Conference clubs.
However, non-contract defender Rob Gier, 27, is set to leave Cambridge after playing 17 games this season.
