Cambridge star Hanlon has to quit
Cambridge United midfielder Ritchie Hanlon has been forced to retire at the age of 28 because of a knee injury.

"I cannot kick a ball and I am devastated but I am hoping to stay in football as much as my injury will allow," Hanlon told the U's website.

"I am talking with the PFA at present - it is life-changing and I need to find another career."

Hanlon, who joined the U's from Lincoln in 2005, also had spells at Stevenage, Rushden, Welling and Southend.
