Abbey Stadium's future is 'safe'
Under-fire Cambridge vice-chairman John Howard has reassured supporters the Abbey Stadium is in safe hands.

Bideawhile, a company co-owned by Howard, bought the ground for 1.92m last year and recently rejected a 2.2m bid for it from ex-director Johnny Hon.

But Howard said: "Football will be played at Abbey Stadium for 50 years, unless the directors and shareholders feel the best thing is to relocate.

"The ground is safe in the short-term, no matter what people may think."
