Bury manager Alan Knill has confirmed Nicky Adams is set to be offered a new contract to stay at Gigg Lane.
Adams scored Bury's goal in Saturday's 1-1 draw with neighbours Rochdale, just weeks after the Shakers rejected Dale's undisclosed offer for the striker.
"We're talking to him about a new contract and I think Nicky wants to stay," Knill told BBC Radio Manchester.
"We're delighted to have him and I've already seen some progress with him. I think he will be a top player."
