Striker Jon Newby has rejoined Bury for a second spell, after leaving Huddersfield by mutual consent.
Newby was a fans' favourite in his first spell at Bury
The 25-year-old former Liverpool trainee left Gigg Lane last summer to join the Terriers, but has now signed a two-year deal with the Shakers.
"It just didn't work out here. He was further and further down the pecking order as the season went on," said Huddersfield boss Peter Jackson.
"It was only right to draw the whole thing to a conclusion."
With the emergence of Jon Stead, Pawel Abbott and John McAliskey, Warrington-born Newby found it difficult to secure a first team spot at the McAlpine Stadium after knee surgery and a dip in form.
But he has now returned to Bury, where he was a crowd favourite for two years after leaving Anfield.
He follows another ex-Terrier, midfielder Dwayne Mattis, who joined Bury from Huddersfield last week.
