Defender Guy Branston leaves Burton and joins Torquay
Branston has played for 16 clubs during his career
Burton Albion centre-half Guy Branston has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent and joined Torquay United on a one-year deal.
The 31-year-old joined the Brewers last summer making 19 appearances before joining Torquay on loan in January.
Burton boss Paul Peschisolido said signing Nathan Stanton and Darren Moore meant Branston was not needed.
Torquay boss Paul Buckle told his club website: "He made a huge difference to us last season at just the right time."
He added: "Guy is already a firm favourite with the supporters and it is a great addition for the club.
"He had other offers on the table that would probably have given him more money but this is the place he wants to be."
Meanwhile, Brewers boss Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby: "In fairness to Guy he has worked extremely hard and got on with it but we have brought two in.
"He did a good job at Torquay last season and we wish him all the best."
