Peschisolido will not pay over odds for Scott Rendell

Burton Albion manager Paul Peschisolido insists he will not pay over the odds for Peterborough striker Scott Rendell.

Rendell, 23, has been told he is free to leave and Stevenage, Wycombe and Torquay are also keen to sign him.

But Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby that Posh director of football Barry Fry is proving a difficult man to do business with.

"There's a stumbling block when you are dealing with Barry; he has some crazy valuations," Peschisolido said.

"I quite liked him [Rendell] last season and have been looking at perhaps bringing in someone a bit different up front."

But the Brewers boss said the form of last season's front duo of Greg Pearson and Shaun Harrad means he feels in a position of strength when it comes to negotiations.

"When you look at the input of Greg and Has last season - they scored a hell of a lot of goals so there's no reason to go out and panic buy," Peschisolido said.

"We'll see what happens."
