Burton eager to get boss in place

Burton Albion

Burton Albion chairman Ben Robinson is eager to get a new manager in place by the start of next week.

And Robinson told BBC Radio Derby that the club have had no shortage of high quality applicants as they prepare for life in the Football League next term.

"We've had a lot of interest - probably 25-30, many of whom have managed at a higher level than League Two," he said.

"It's important the players get signed up and the new manager builds a squad capable of competing in League Two."

Previous boss Roy McFarland left the club at the end of the season when his short-term contract expired.
