Burnley have completed the signing of Bournemouth forward Danny Ings for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £1m.

The 19-year-old striker has signed a four-year deal with the Clarets.

Ings, who had a loan spell at Dorchester last season, scored eight goals in 28 games for the Cherries.

He told the club website: "Ed [Howe] and Jason [Tindall] brought me through and gave me the opportunity and it's good to be back working with them."

Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell had said it would take an offer of at least £1m for the club to consider selling Ings.

On Saturday he told BBC Radio Solent: BBC Radio Solent: "He wouldn't leave this club for under £1m that is for sure."

Ings is a product of Bournemouth's youth system where he progressed under the management of former Cherries boss Howe.

The Clarets boss told BBC Radio Lancashire the Championship club had fought off strong competition to sign him.

"He's a very talented young player. Danny's only just turned 19 but very highly thought of. A lot of other clubs and Premier League clubs wanted to sign him.

"Where do you find a striker who's going to score in the Championship without spending millions and then giving them millions on top in wages, it's incredibly difficult - it's a good signing."

Ings will link up with former Cherries team-mate Marvin Bartley, who joined in February.
