Burnley have signed transfer-listed striker Steve Thompson from Championship rivals Cardiff City.
The 6ft 2in Scottish international has signed a two-year deal after arriving on a free transfer.
Cardiff boss Dave Jones wanted the 29-year-old frontman, who also attracted interest from Plymouth Argyle, off his wage bill.
Thompson moved down Cardiff's striking pecking order after Jay Bothroyd, Ross McCormack and Eddie Johnson joined.
Thompson, capped 16 times by Scotland, started his career at Dundee United and joined Cardiff from Rangers in January 2006, scoring 16 goals in 97 games for the Bluebirds.
