Burnley captain Steven Caldwell feels Tuesday's 2-0 win over struggling Coventry shows the club is going in the right direction.
The Clarets moved to within two points of a Championship play-off spot and the 27-year-old defender is urging his players to fight every step of the way.
"I think it's games like that that we normally go on to draw and lose," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"But I think it shows we are learning although we realise it wasn't pretty."

Hopefully I can now go on a run and get a few goals this season

Caldwell insists he also needs to step up his own goalscoring contribution after netting his first goal for the club in Tuesday's victory at Turf Moor.
"I feel I should score a few goals. One season I got five and I was delighted with that, but hopefully I can now go on a run and get a few goals this season.
"It's not something I lose sleep over. I try to do my best in the box and if a chance comes to me it's very important but I was brought here to stop goals and if I'm doing that I'm happy."
