Burnley have failed to sign former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Artim Sakiri after having an appeal for a work permit for the player rejected.
Sakiri will have to look at a future away from Turf Moor
The Macedonian international, 31, who was released by the Baggies at the end of last season, had agreed a 12-month deal subject to gaining a work permit.
An initial application was turned down and their appeal against the verdict was rejected at Thursday's hearing.
Boss Steve Cotterill said: "I don't what else we could have done."
