Burnley have signed winger John Oster, who recently left Sunderland.
The 26-year-old, who worked with Steve Cotterill at Sunderland, has signed a contract to stay at Turf Moor until the end of the season.
The Wales international started at Grimsby, was sold to Everton for £1.5m in 1997, who in turn sold him to Sunderland for £1m, two years later.
He was on loan at Leeds earlier this season but was sent back to Sunderland after an off-the-field incident.
Sunderland held their own investigation into the incident and subsequently cancelled his contract.
