Burnley make Ternent plea
Burnley chairman Barry Kilby wants manager Stan Ternent to stay after his current contract expires in the summer.

"It is no secret I want Stan to remain in charge and we have already held various meetings," Kilby told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

"But we cannot begin to dot any I's or cross any T's until we know what the future holds.

"Relegation could cost us around 700,000 and avoiding that has to be the first priority for everyone."

Ternent was appointed in June 1998 following a successful spell in charge of Bury, and is the seventh longest-serving manager in English football.
