Burnley announce departures
Ball has been a regular in the Burnley side
Burnley manager Stan Ternent has given free transfers to several senior players following their failure to clinch a First Division play-off place.
Mitchell Thomas, Kevin Ball, Lenny Johnrose, Tony Ellis, Luigi Cennamo and youngster John Williamson have all been told they can leave Turf Moor. Ball, 37, out of contract this summer, has played the majority of first team games this season while Thomas, also 37, has been involved in recent weeks. Johnrose's chances have been restricted because of injury and Cennamo has made only one substitute appearance for the Clarets since his arrival from Greek side Panathinaikos - the 2-1 FA Cup defeat at Third Division Cheltenham. Williamson, a product of the youth team, has rarely figured in the first team, making just one substitute appearance in nearly four years at the club.
