Paul Trollope says Bristol Rovers will analyse the players' fitness levels

Bristol Rovers players are facing their first big test of the season before a ball has even been kicked.

Paul Trollope's squad report back for pre-season training on 1 July with each player to undergo fitness tests.

The Rovers manager told BBC Radio Bristol: "The players will have between two and three hours of testing so that we know exactly where people are with their fitness.

"They've been away with their summer programmes and heart-rate monitors."

Added Trollope: "We'll soon know who has followed the programme and who hasn't.

"To do the tests right at the start gives us a clear indication of fitness levels so we can adjust training as necessary."
