Bristol Rovers have completed the signing of Watford striker Will Hoskins on a two-year contract.

The 24-year-old was free to leave the Hornets after they decided not to offer him new terms.

Nottingham-born Hoskins, who began his career with Rotherham United, told the Rovers website: "I am happy to get the deal done.

"I cannot wait for pre-season and I just want to get back to scoring goals again," he added.

Hoskins scored 23 times in 73 league appearances for Rotherham before joining Watford in January 2007.

The Hornets made a double swoop on the Yorkshire club, signing Lee Williamson at the same time, paying a combined fee of £1.2million for both players.

Will is a talented striker capable of scoring lots of goals. We think he will be a fantastic addition to our squad

Hoskins said: "I spoke to Paul Trollope and came away thinking I can come here and score goals. Hopefully I will bring a lot to the team.

"I want to score every game, I want to play every game to my high standards. I have a goal target in mind but that is something I keep personal.

"The fans here really get behind the team, this is a ground that can intimidate you and I am looking forward to getting all that support."

Hoskins made 18 appearances - 13 as a substitute - for Watford last season, scoring three goals and has also had spells on loan with Nottingham Forest and Millwall.

Rovers chairman Nick Higgs said: "Will is a talented striker capable of scoring lots of goals. We think he will be a fantastic addition to our squad.

"We are also hoping to bring in more players of the same pedigree over the next couple of days."
