Rochdale midfielder Lee Hodges has joined Bristol Rovers on loan until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old will assist Rovers' fight against relegation ahead of a possible permanent move in the summer.
"In many ways it puts an end to a disappointing season for all concerned," said Dale boss Paul Simpson.
"I think everybody will agree that we all had big expectations when he signed Lee Hodges in the summer.
"But for various reasons things haven't worked out for him," Simpson told his club's website.
The former West Ham midfielder joined Dale following three years at Scunthorpe but after starting just three league games recently asked for a move.
Terms of the loan move mean Hodges will not be able to play for Rovers when they play at Rochdale on 8 April.
