Brooker only made one appearance during his loan spell at Doncaster
Bristol City striker Steve Brooker has returned to Doncaster in an attempt to join the club on a permanent basis.
The 27-year-old was loaned by City to the Yorkshire club in November but a calf injury sustained in training saw him return to Ashton Gate.
Brooker has now returned to the Keepmoat Stadium for treatment, with a view to signing for Rovers when fit.
He has been with City for five years but his 101 appearances have been interrupted by various injuries.
Brooker played just one game for Doncaster in his loan spell, coming on as substitute and scoring to earn the team a 1-1 draw at Watford on 29 November.
