City delay Matthews' operation
Bristol City striker Lee Matthews could need surgery at the end of the season to cure his ankle problem.

But City are hoping that their 700,000 signing from Leeds will be able to play for the remainder of the campaign.

"It is possible Lee will need minor surgery to clear things up," City manager Danny Wilson told the club website.

"He has missed so many games and it is very frustrating, not only for him, but also for me.

"By the time he gets games in he always seems to be injured again.

"We can only keep our fingers crossed that the situation improves with rest in the coming weeks," he added.
