Brighton clinch Wicks deal
Matthew Wicks
Matthew Wicks: Spells at Arsenal, Manchester United and Crewe
Central defender Matthew Wicks has joined Brighton from Peterborough United following a month on loan with the Seagulls.

Brighton manager Micky Adams clinched the deal for 25,000 despite the 50,000 valuation initially put on Wicks by Peterborough.

Wicks, 22, has signed a three-year contract with Brighton.

He joins them after spells with Arsenal, Manchester United and Crewe.

Adams said: "Matt has done well since he joined us. His pedigree is beginning to come through and we're looking to develop him further. We believe he has a lot to offer this club."

Wicks's father and agent is former Chelsea and QPR star Steve Wicks, last night and agreed personal terms on a three-season contract with the Albion.
