Brighton & Hove Albion winger Will Buckley eyes starting place

Brighton & Hove Albion winger Will Buckley is targeting a place in the starting line-up after overcoming his hamstring injury.

The 22-year-old came off the bench to score a late winner in the victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

He told BBC Sussex: "I've been out for the past couple of weeks so to come on and do that is just amazing.

"I know what I can do. I've just got to get back to my best and the starts will come from there."

He added: "We don't play with two wingers, which makes it hard. Craig [Noone] and Kaz [LuaLua] are great wingers.

"I can play on the wing and other positions, which will help my cause. I just want to get in that starting XI."

The Seagulls moved into the Championship play-offs spots with Saturday's victory and Buckley believes they have a squad capable of staying there.

"People are expecting us to do well and we need to take things game by game and see where it takes us," he continued.

"It's the squad that counts. That's why we'll do well - we've got 18, 19, 20 players who want to play."
