Brighton's Will Buckley hopes injury woes are over

Brighton & Hove Albion's Will Buckley is optimistic he has finally overcome his recurring hamstring injury.

The winger has been restricted to eight appearances this season following his £1m summer move from Watford.

The 21-year-old told BBC Sussex: "I've been having little growth spurts so that might have been the cause.

"Every time I came back it didn't feel right. I've been working hard with the physio team and hopefully it's all settled now."

He added: "I've been in the gym and I've been given a set programme of what to do to stay injury-free."

I've been frustrated with some of my performances because I've not been myself

The former Rochdale man is keen to fulfil the potential he showed on his debut, when he came off the bench and scored a brace in the 2-1 win over Doncaster on the opening day of the Championship season.

"The first game set the standard of where I want to be," he continued.

"I've been frustrated with some of my performances because I've not been myself. It's been frustrating for the fans and me as well.

"This is the start of my season again I suppose and hopefully I can get back on track."
