Brighton & Hove Albion: The Road to Falmer

Brighton & Hove Albion's new Amex Stadium

Brighton & Hove Albion stage their first League game in their new Amex Stadium on Saturday.

The match against Doncaster Rovers marks an end to 14 years of nomadic existence - two years playing at Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium and 12 years spend at their temporary home, Withdean Stadium.

The club were left homeless following the sale of the Goldstone Ground in 1997.

Plans for a new stadium at Falmer were first submitted in 2001, but it took a six-year battle before the green light was given by Secretary of State Hazel Blears MP.

BBC Sussex has talked to the key personalities who were part of the campaign, from the supporters to former chairman Dick Knight.

With archive from the games, the protests and the news you can hear the highs and lows which led to the new ground at Falmer.

Listen to a special half-hour documentary, The Road to Falmer, which tells the story of Brighton's fight to have a home to call their own.
