No pressure on Brighton, says Gary Dicker

Brighton midfielder Gary Dicker says there is no pressure on his club to wrap up promotion from League One.

The Seagulls are currently 11 points clear at the top of the table and need eight points to guarantee promotion.

Dicker told BBC Sussex: "If you ask anyone it's tougher when you're down the bottom scrapping.

"If there was going to be any pressure it would have been last month when we had eight games. We've got seven games left and it is in our hands."

The 24-year-old continued: "The year before last was pressure, when we had eight games to go and we were eight points from safety.

"It's enjoyable when you are winning, at the top, and teams are looking up to you."

However the former Stockport man says there will be no complacency despite their commanding position at the top of the table.

"I don't think anyone in the dressing room is relaxing and thinking we are there," Dicker added.

"Gus Poyet and Mauricio Taricco won't let us.

"It's about us as a team sticking together, and doing what we have been doing all season."
