Brighton's Lewis Dunk prepared to wait for chance

Brighton and Hove Albion teenage defender Lewis Dunk knows he will have to wait for more opportunities to play in the Seagulls first team.

The 18-year-old has made just one appearance this season despite having his abilities praised by Seagulls' manager Gus Poyet.

He told BBC Sussex: "I know what it's going to be like. I've got three centre-halves I'm competing against.

"They're all older and I'm only young. I've just got to wait for my chances."

He added: "In every day in training you can see their experience and learn from it."

But Dunk is expected to start Albion's FA Cup tie against Blue Square Bet South side Woking on Saturday, and he says they must not be complacent despite the gulf between the two teams.

"They're going to come to us, give it their all and work hard," he said.

"We've got to stick to our game plan, keep them running, and hopefully take advantage when we're in the final third.

"We've got to make sure the job gets done."
