Brighton boss Micky Adams is considering re-signing stalwart Seagulls defender Kerry Mayo.
Mayo, 30, was released by ex-manager Dean Wilkins in May but is training with Albion and played in Saturday's 4-0 friendly win at Worthing.
Adams told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "Kerry Mayo has always had a future with Micky Adams - it wasn't me that released him.
"He loves Brighton. We need that sort of commitment in the squad."
Adams added: "He wants to be part of this football club. It's up to myself, the chairman and the board to decide if we feel he's worthy of that."
Mayo played for 45 minutes in the win at Worthing, with the Seagulls' goals coming from Kevin McLeod, Glenn Murray, Colin Hawkins and Scott Chamberlain.
